Dia de los Muertos Celebration

“Dia de los Muertos Celebration”

Sunday, October 31st, 2021

Please join us for our annual Day of the Dead Celebration, where we honor our loved ones that have gone to “the other side”, remembering them with joy as we recognize death as a natural phase of life. We will have an ofrenda (altar) set up so you can add photos and mementos of your family, friends, and pets that have passed. Please bring a mask so that we comply with Larimer County’s reinstated indoor mask mandate. Hope you’ll join us at 11 a.m.!
Stay safe and well! Colleen and Mark

Request for guest presenters and musicians! ~ Thanks to those who have stepped up to present a topic on Sunday, or to share music! Please let us know if you’re interested or have ideas of other speakers/musicians you’d like to invite. A small honorarium is available.

Sending “Good Juju” and prayer ~ If anyone ever wants to receive our collective positive thoughts and prayers on a Sunday morning, please ask! We can be as specific or as anonymous as you’d like. Let us know if we can surround you and your loved ones in love and light!

“Paths of Heart” Labyrinth – What a joy it was to envision and oversee the creation of our labyrinth and Zen Garden last summer! This was intentioned to be a community space, so know that you are always welcome to drop by and walk or sit – you do not need to let us know in advance. Do note that we have experienced the outer “halo” of glass blocks to be slippery when wet, so it’s best to walk it on a dry day (not usually a problem in Colorado!). We also welcome volunteers to help keep our labyrinth looking beautiful and free of debris and weeds. Thank you in advance.

Giving Opportunities – Two ways you can support Paths of Heart without costing you an extra penny are detailed below:

King Soopers Community Rewards Program – if you shop at KS and have a rewards card, you can “link” it to Paths of Heart and King Soopers will donate a portion of your dollars spent (around 5%) to our non-profit. Go to https://www.kingsoopers.com/i/community/community-rewards to sign up and link your card. Our organization name is Paths of Heart and organization number is RG782. Let us know if you want help signing up!

Amazon Smile – We do love shopping locally and very often do, but Amazon sometimes fits the bill. If you are an Amazon shopper, you can make a difference by shopping at smile.amazon.com/ch/81-4175487 to generate donations for Paths of Heart!

During this past year when we weren’t meeting often, online donations became increasingly important to our organization, and are still always gratefully accepted on our website, https://www.pathsofheart.org/donate/. You can even sign up for monthly giving, which we deeply appreciate. Thanks so much for supporting the continuation of Paths of Heart!

Gratitudes

It’s been another productive week here at the homestead – cabinets installed, painting happening, lots of tree work done! We are grateful to have the resources to complete projects inside and out.

What are you grateful for today?

“Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.” ~ Amy Collette

“I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” ~ Gilbert C. Chesterton

“The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see.” ~ Mary Davis

“If you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.” ~ Rabbi Harold Kushner

“Raise the Vibration!”

This Sunday, Peter Lopez will be our guest musician AND presenter, and it’s all about raising the vibration! We have no doubt that the music and discussion will do just that! We’re not yet sure whether we’ll be inside or out, but signs will be posted when you arrive. Please bring a mask so that if we’re inside we comply with Larimer County’s reinstated indoor mask mandate. You are welcome to call (970-484-9600) or email us on Sunday morning for the latest information. Hope you’ll join us at 11 a.m.
Stay safe and well! Colleen and Mark

“Listening to your ego brings your vibration down; listening to your higher self brings your vibration up.” ~ Caroline A. Shearer

“Appreciation is the purest vibration that exists on the planet today.” ~ Esther Hicks

“Your personal vibration or energy state is a blend of the contracted or expanded frequencies of your body, emotions, and thoughts at any given moment. The more you allow your soul to shine through you, the higher your personal vibration will be.” ~ Penney Peirce

“The law of attraction is all about vibration. Everything is vibrational – your thoughts, your ideas, every being. You will draw to you whatever vibration matches yours, wanted or unwanted.” ~ Anonymous

The kitchen remodel continues to rock! We are looking forward to amazing potluck gatherings in the not too distant future. We’ve put the gardens to bed for the season and they have provided abundantly. It’s nice to take “watering” off the endless “to do” list! We’ve cherished our visit with Colleen’s Dad. He’s a gem.

Autumn’s Wisdom

“Autumn’s Wisdom”

Sunday, October 17th, 2021

This Sunday we’ll discuss what Autumn’s glory has to say to us – can’t you hear her whispering through the leaves? We hope to be outside, but if the temps continue to “fall”, we may retreat inside. If we do, please excuse our construction clutter! See you Sunday morning at 11 a.m.!
Colleen and Mark

Just a quick update on tomorrow’s Paths of Heart Gathering, 10/17/21 at 11 am. Due to a variety of reasons, our gathering will be INDOORS tomorrow, and MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED. We wanted to give everyone a heads up so you can decide what’s best for yourselves in this situation. Stay well! Colleen and Mark

Quotes to ponder

“Delicious Autumn! My very soul is wedded to it and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth, seeking the successive autumns.” ~ George Eliot

“Maybe it is just this time of year—when the rains begin to come down and the skies often turn a little bleak – but every fall, I feel an acute sense of grief and an intense desire to let go.” ~ Sarah Norrad

“Winter is an etching, Spring a water color, Summer an oil painting, and Autumn a mosaic of them all.” ~ Starley Horowitz

“It is easy to get caught in the melancholy of change. It is uncertain and sometimes disorienting, and… change is imminent. I try to remember that it is in the art of letting go that new life is made possible. I trust that those falling leaves are not perishing – they are distilling into something that will fuel new growth.” ~ Elise Krohn

What’s on Your Mind (What’s in Your Heart)?

“What’s on Your Mind (What’s in Your Heart)?”

Sunday, October 10th, 2021

The changing of any season tends to stir the mind and the heart about changes happening in our own lives, assessments of our lives in this moment, and where we go from here. We don’t have any particular topic for this week other than that generalization, and we’d love to hear what is on your mind and in your heart these days. It’ll be nice just to check in and chat with you all! We are on ZOOM this Sunday, and since we are getting this newsletter out late in the game (again!), here’s the link if you’d like to join us!
